How to save 15% on your monthly iPhone 3G AT&T bill

Want to stick it to the man? Here’s a way you might qualify for 15% (or more) off your monthly AT&T bill. While it appears that Apple and AT&T cannot activate any iPhones onto or already on discounted rate plans (that doesn’t mean a helpful representative can’t take the plan off, activate the iPhone and then add the plan back – as one new purchaser gleefully describes in this message thread) – it doesn’t mean you cannot add them after the purchase. These discounts are all courtesy of AT&T and their FAN program (Foundation Account Number). Eligible subscribers (college students and employees of eligible companies) can receive monthly ongoing discounts of 15% or more – which reportedly includes family plans. Two caveats — you’ll be required to sign for a new 2 year contract (which shouldn’t make any difference if you’ve already done so through the AT&T store) and this doesn’t work for the unlimited plans. To enroll, visit the site below. There’s nothing more to do than submit (and verify) your work email address. Then wait for AT&T to add the discount.
