iPhone 3G battery pack to trickle out in August

Amid quietly rising complaints of so-so battery performance with the new 3G iPhone comes an announcement to expect the Dexim BluePack – a “bolt under” extended battery solution on August 1. It’s a lithium battery for iPhone 3g with 1,200 mAh capacity. Once charged (via USB) you can expect an additional 36 ours for music, 7 hours for video and 3.5 hours of talk time – all for only $79.72. Read on for another pic and a link to the order page.

    I’m actually thinking about the Kensington Mini Battery pack for my iPhone. (http://us.kensington.com/html/15462.html)

    Not as much juice as the one above, but to me it looks better (size-wise). Plus, if you get it from Amazon, it’s $36. If you get it from Amazon TODAY (7/14), there’s a $10 mail-in rebate on top of it.

    However, I’m probably going to wait for a little while to see how the iPhone battery holds out. I used a Motorola Q for two yearss and recharged it overnight, every night, so it won’t be anything new for me if I did that with the iPhone. What would be new is if it started dying during the day and with all the media, data, etc., that may be a real possibility.
