This give-away is now closed; thank you to all who participated. We’ll be posting winners names shortly…
If you have been following the Gear Diary Team’s posts for any amount of time, then you’d know that those of us who use Palm and Windows Mobile devices hold the products from Ilium Software in the highest regard. I have personally loaded eWallet and ListPro on just about every Palm or Pocket PC/windows Mobile device that I’ve owned, and more recently I have also come to rely on NewsBreak in the same way; according to FeedBurner, 30% of Gear Diary’s RSS subscribers feel the same about NewsBreak. But I digress.
We have been offered five registered copies of eWallet and ListPro to give to our readers, and today seems like as good a day as any to kick off this new give-away.
Here is how you can win:
Tell us about the method you use to remember your passwords – whatever it may be. [extra points for really imaginative or particularly unsafe methods]
or
Tell us how you think ListPro might help make your life easier.
Leave your entry in the comments of this post, and we will pick five winners of each program on Sunday, July 20th at 5:30CST.
Good Luck!

My wife and I have printed copies of all our passwords for the myriad sites/places we use. I have a copy of hers, and she has a copy of mine that are in a locked cabinet. She’s occasionally annoyed at mine as I am reasonably fluent in leetspeak phrases.
ListPro could definitely be useful since I do all the cooking around our house, and my wife enjoys running to our incredible local food store, Jungle Jim’s (www.junglejims.com). It’s like international Disneyland for food. I’ve yet to see anything like it anywhere else in the US. But I digress…anyway, I create food lists for my wife, and scratching something out on a notepad can be tough for her as my handwriting is abysmal. Listpro could make our lives much easier and spare wasting cell minutes with “Honey, you have written here that you wanted…Ataulfo mangos?

I currently use Ewallet as my password generator and storage for all of the websites and everything else these days that requires a password. I know this is not very imaginative, but it is very practical to have your passwords always in reach on my phone or computer, wherever I happen to be.

I keep them in an old copy of ListPro on my Wibrain UMPC. I got my copy of ListPro (v2.0.1) with an early Compaq iPaq. Would really like a more recent version.

For my bank ATM password I write it backwards at my forehead/hairline (for security reasons it is hidden just under my bangs). It’s backwards so someone looking at me, not named leonardo divinci, would have a hard time reading it. The genius of it is, when I stand in front of the ATM I can ‘retrieve’ my password by looking at the highly reflective domed camera cover found on the front of most ATMs. And someone behind me can’t see it since in order for me to see it I have to be right in front, thus blocking the view of anyone behind me. Brilliant!

I thought I was the only one that wrote my password on my head! The problem I have is that as time has gone on, the hairline and moved back so I’ve had to start wearing a hat to cover it. Then when I get to the ATM, I can’t get the bifocals to focus on the password and I have to ask the next guy in line to read it for me!
To msi: Your post got me thinking about doing that and I’ve been giggling to myself for 30 minutes! I hope you win a copy because you have made my day

I used flex wallet until it was sold to Ilium and I went to Spb Wallet. I miss being able to edit the templates and would like to get back to that. The interface looks great!

Some passwords/PINs are only used for one thing and I’ve been using it for so long that I’ve got it memorized.
Passwords – depends on the site. There are definitely throwaway sites that I don’t really care too much about and am not creative. Banking and similar have tended to be variations on a theme.
Already have ListPro and appreciate that – good way to organize tasks and shopping lists. I use it most often for trips to the store and running errands to ensure I’m not forgetting anything.

I have so many lists in different places that I forget which list has which items. I have been trying to consolidate them on my Palm but I still have too many. I have a spreadsheet with Documents To Go with 3 tabs to separate the categories but I find that there are duplicates. I just added HandyShopper but still have “things to buy” on my spreadsheet. I have tasks in my Task List but also on my spreadsheet. When I work on consolidating I just get confused and so stop and just sit down and read an ebook!
I need one place to put everything…like ListPro. If I wasn’t overwhelmed by my “several lists” I would actually get things done!!
Thank you for the chance to win!
