Apple sent an email this morning to subscribers of its MobilMe online service to apologize for delays during the launch which may have prevented some users from logging into accounts they had paid for. The email goes on to point out that while data IS pushed from their Web Apps to the iPhone, Apple now recognizes that data is not “pushed” when it is synchronized from the web to PC and MAC hardware (which only synchronizes on a 15 minute schedule or when manually initiated). For this, they are giving MobileMe subscribers an additional 30-day extension on their subscription. Full email on the next page.

iPhone users with the new version 2.0 are all clamoring for exchange/push email. Mail2Web’s servers have been getting steadily worse all week. I know it’s a free service but man this sucks. =( Some people I know can’t receive any mail at all. Hopefully it levels off and the servers catch up.
