Usee, Inc this week launches their Useeisee PictureFone service. Connect their Grandstream XV3000 Videophone to your DSL or Cable connection, plug it in – and start making video (or regular) calls immediately. The monthly service charge is a fairly reasonable $39.95 (by comparison Vonage VOIP charges $24.95 for residential unlimited voice only). Each phone costs $249.95 and in order to see video you’ll have to call out to another Useeisee subscriber. The picture quality seems pretty good (demo here) making this an ideal service for grandparents who may want to keep in touch with the grandchildren or curious parents who need to check up on the kids. Since this is all VOIP based, you can take it with you when you travel making it handy to keep in touch with loved ones back home.
