We Get Mail: WowWee’s Femisapien, aka E.M.A the Kissing Robot, Reviewed!

Posted on 29 July 2008 by

Here’s a late night bit of robotic goodness for you from the master himself, the incomparable Robert Oschler. He’s back with the “first detailed review ever of WowWee’s first female robot”…

Hello Judie,

Here’s my latest.

The first detailed review ever of WowWee’s first female robot ever is now online, posted just minutes ago. In-depth review and companion video gives solid coverage of Femisapien’s revolutionary new touch based interface and shows several of her many truly unique and entertaining behaviors. Most importantly, the video shows that she is the first truly capable dancing robot in the consumer price range. The review page contains critical tips for buyers and would-be owners of WowWee’s new robot.

Femisapien is scheduled for release this month and is already shipping in the Hong Kong and some Asian markets. Her estimated U.S. price is $99 USD.

For a hilarious example of her dancing and acting skills put to comedic use watch “Robot Girl”, an all robot parody of Aqua’s “Barbie Girl”:

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
