Starbucks is expanding their reduced price after 2pm promotion. Previously this was available in only a few states. Now it appears to be a nationwide offering. Effective today, stop into Starbucks in the AM and purchase a coffee – then return after 2pm (with your receipt) – and buy a grande iced beverage for $2. This price is about 50% of the normal cost. Starbucks has gone on record saying that they won’t cut prices to raise their store traffic – which is exactly what this looks like to me. Whether reduced price iced drinks work long term to help boost Starbucks’ bottom line is anyone’s guess. Starbucks already offers 2 hours of free AT&T Wi-Fi for anyone who makes use of the Starbucks card. Watch for more of these types of deals – especially centered around the use of the Starbucks card.
