Last night Dan noticed that Evernote released an upgrade for their iPhone application. This new version adds the ability to edit your existing notes on the iPhone. The only catch that I’ve seen is you cannot edit a note that has any special formatting (fonts, pictures). This change is a great improvement and now allows me to add to existing notes while I’m away from my computer. Evernote is a program available for Windows, Mac, iPhone, Windows Mobile and Web that lets you create notes and effortlessly sync. They offer a free version whose only limitation is a smaller (but still generous) limitation on the amount of data you can sync. If you haven’t looked at Evernote – check it out via the link below. This is the only way I take notes at the office and home.

I have tried Evernote again just yesterday, but while it’s nice and all it still lacks some things that I would need/want.

My main gripe is with WM application – it is capable of creating notes (both text and handwritten) but that’s it – the only other thing that I can do with these notes is to sync them to the web and view them via browser…
I don’t know about the others, but most of the time I’m creating my notes with mobile device (in my case that’s WM device) and what I would really need/want is functionality of their desktop application – syncing of notes and ability to edit them on the WM device.
Also what would be nice is ability to mix text and ink (I don’t think that’s possible at the moment) and the ability to create to-do’s.
So for the moment I’ll still use my PhatPad as note taking application and as for syncing, I just send the note to my work Exchange account – this way it’s available on all my devices…
