Looks like the US version of the Nokia N78 (aka N78-3) finally gets some OTA Firmware update love. One active HOFO member - Mobilehavoc - is reporting:
Update completed! Very very impressed. Phone booted up normal and then shortly got a little dialog that said “Phone update complete”. ALL my data/apps and settings are intact and it’s like nothing ever happened.GO NOKIA!! I hope updates continue to be released this way…it’s magical!
So far haven’t noticed any major changes but the real test is going to be over the next few days as I use it. I’ll continue to post back in this thread with any changes.
yes this is the latest release 12.046 that is also out for the N78 EURO. I’m especially excited since there were supposed to be several stability improvements included - let’s hope they weren’t lying.
This follows an earlier firmware update which was made available in mid-July for the European version of the Nokia but left US owners of the Nokia hanging with Nokia as late as July 24th stating that they had “no ETA” on a firmware update for the USA version. If you’re using a Nokia N73-A, grab the firmware update by doing an over the air update on your handset.
