It looks like Jott, the voice to text service that transcribes your messages and integrates with popular web sites such as Google Calendar, Remember the Milk and 30 Boxes, has emerged from perpetual beta. As of September 8, 2008 those of you with an account will have to pick from one of these plans:
Jott Basic (free, ad-supported) and Jott ($3.95/month) will have 15 second recording times. Those of you who would like longer recording times can opt for 30 seconds with Jott Pro ($12.95 / month) or 60 seconds with a Pay As You Go plans.
In addition, All Jott Links will work with Jott, Jott Pro, and Jott Pay As You Go plans. Jott Basic users will only have access to communication links such as Twitter, Blogger (and other blogging services), as well as Amazon and Zillow. All “productivity” links such as Google Calendar, 30 Boxes, and Remember the Milk have been moved to premium plans (Jott, Jott Pro, and Jott Pay As You Go). If you are currently using a premium Jott Link but opt to use the Jott Basic service, you will no longer be able to access that Jott Link over the phone or from the Jott website. You will need to manually delete those Jott Links from your account.

That’s why you use Note2Self instead – you can do 5-10 minutes worth of audio through your email (anything larger and your ISP will probably reject it). 15-30 seconds worth for $4-$13?

As soon as I get back from vacation I’m going to check out Note2Self. I think both would fit well with my usage. The appeal of Jott is that it transcribes and can integrate via API to various online services.
The appeal of Note2Self is that you can send longer notes. I’m pretty sure I used an earlier version on either my Mogul (WM) or maybe my Blackberry. I do remember it as being handy.
