Since about 3:45am EST today (9-3-2008) AT&T data service in my town has been offline. No 3G. No EDGE. Just voice. According for forum participants at Howardforums, the outage is not entirely nationwide but areas such as New York City, Baltimore and Philadelphia are all down. Those who’ve called AT&T have gotten some explanations blaming the recent hurricane. Personally I’m thinking Bigfoot chewed through a cable or two. AT&T say’s we’ll be back to normal soon. UPDATE 1:00 pm – Everything is back to normal here in CT after an approximate 10 hour data outage.

Huh – I’m in an area hit by the hurricane (albeit barely) and my data service with AT&T has been working without problems. I guess there was more storm damage up in the northeast than here on the gulf coast! :-)
