Ilium’s eWallet Gets In Sync

Posted on 08 September 2008 by

I’ve been loving Ilium’s eWallet for iPhone since the day it was released. Its interface is clean, and the app is both easy to use and incredibly powerful. As I’ve written about over on WhatsOniPhone, eWallet has allowed me to begin carrying far fewer credit and membership cards than ever before. The only thing missing… the ability to sync with a desktop version.

That changed this morning when Ilium released their much anticipated sync upgrade for eWallet on the iPhone. Users can synchronize wallet files between their iPhone or iPod touch and a their desktop via WiFi. Its great news… for Windows users. Unfortunately it is PC only right now. Luckily word is that will change some time in the near future. For now… this is great news for Windows users and actually prompts a bit of jealousy from us Mac converts.

The iPhone app is $9.99. The update is free to for prior owners. The Windows desktop version is required for sync for $19.95.

You can find out more about eWallet on Ilium’s website.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
