I would agree with you about the remote; I have to look carefully at it for almost all functions with exception of basic play/pause/stop.
I have not had the same experience regarding playback of damaged discs; in my case, this player will play everything I have, where other players in my household (3 Sony's, RCA portable, plus cheapo other) have some trouble with certain discs.
And in general, YES, my discs are shiny clean and scratch free - any I purchased new, anyways. The secondhand discs from Blockbuster or Gamestop often have some scratches - I don't understand what people do to DVD's to cause these - I have some discs that I have played dozens of times that still look crystal clean.

I have owned this player for about 6 months now, and as a result of its terrific upsampling playback, I have not bothered purchasing any Blu-Ray discs to date (I think they are horribly overpriced for what they really represent).

I would agree with you about the remote; I have to look carefully at it for almost all functions with exception of basic play/pause/stop.

I have not had the same experience regarding playback of damaged discs; in my case, this player will play everything I have, where other players in my household (3 Sony’s, RCA portable, plus cheapo other) have some trouble with certain discs.

And in general, YES, my discs are shiny clean and scratch free – any I purchased new, anyways.
