This just in from my sister who passed along news of a hot closeout deal at Target stores on AA and AAA batteries:

Take advantage of the AWESOME battery deal?? Found it on Slickdeals. Target must be doing away with their 2pks of AA and AAA batteries. Who ever needs just two?? So, in a box there are 5 packs of 2 each—-so 10 batteries. 2.48 for the box. NOT bad!! I looked at the 10 packs of Duracells (same brand as this sale) and they are 7.49. BIG savings!! I bought 10 boxes. 100 batteries. 24.80. Damned good price. I’m now going through the painstaking process of taking them all out of their boxes and packaging and putting them in baggies in the freezer….. If you go to Target looking for them, they are in the electronics dept.

Sure enough my local Target store had a decent stock of the 5 pack batteries on closeout. If you’re near Target this week and need AA or AAA batteries – this would be a good time to stock up.
