According to various online sites, the Microsoft campaign with Jerry Seinfeld is done. After airing two commercials which seemed to make no improvement to public perception about Microsoft – it’s over. Perhaps most embarrassing is not the commercial but that several Microsoft press releases and official blog postings tried to play the commercials off as “only the beginning”. Looks as if this offbeat campaign only proved that “Sometimes the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason”.

I am not buying the “planned second phase” explanation one bit. This campaign was a perfect example of what an Ad agency does (try to win awards for cleverness) when given too big a budget.

I predict that the remainder of this campaign will suck just as bad.
