Talk Like a Pirate Day is Friday September 19. This whimsical idea caught fire back in September 2002 when Dave Barry spotlighted the day in his column. John Baur and Mark Summers are the guys behind this event. They “invented” it on a whim after a lengthy game of racquetball. The date of September 19 was picked because it is Summers’ ex-wife’s birthday. Arrr, so tell all your friends and get ready for some good Pirate fun on Friday, gar! Ahoy, now back t’ work Ye’ll ne’er get me buried booty!
