The Sansa Slot Player’s are rolling out at Best Buy. My local store has the music and the players on sale. Sansa Slotmusic is a tiny music player that plays MP3 (non-DRM) sold on MicrSD cards. I have a hard time seeing this catching on – not because the value isn’t good ($14 for a 1GB MicrSD with a full MP3 album isn’t bad). Rather I don’t see people wanting to purchase albums on MicroSD and have an entire drawer full of these memory cards. Plus capacity on the MicroSD are rising quickly and most users are seeking 4,8 or 16GB cards with 1GB quickly becoming the low end memory card. The music availability in my Best Buy was also slim with only about 3 albums on display.
