If you have a Blackberry Pearl changing the color of your trackball is relatively easy. The Pearl has a muti-color LED beneath the trackball which controls changing the color of the trackball. This means you can use a software program to control the Pearl trackball default color. However if you’re using an 88xx series Blackberry you can’t use a software program to make the trackball change color because the underlying LED is one color – white. So how can you change this? The folks at Instructables have a 4 step process that involves removing the trackball ring (not for the timid) and coloring over the LED Diode with a Sharpie marker.
