Nothing says “I took the time to get you something really special” more than a personalized gift, and while many might choose a monogrammed item or something in the recipient’s favorite color and call it a day, I have discovered a gift that takes personalization to a whole new level.

So let me set the scenario: perhaps you’ve got a couple of favorite pictures of you and the object of your affection, or perhaps you have photos of a meaningful place that you both love – maybe from a vacation or maybe from the early days of your relationship. Now check this out: You can take those digital photos and create relatively inexpensive postcards, note cards, and greeting cards with them.

I was recently offered the chance to do just that through MOO, and the results truly surprised me. Let’s take a look…

The first package we’ll open are the NoteCards I created, which contain photos I took of the Eiffel Tower from Sarah’s and my vacation in Paris last summer. MOO pulled them directly from my Flickr set, but it could have also used photos from FaceBook, Etsy, or direct uploads. The NoteCards have a beautiful glossy full color photo on their front, and a flap which folds to allow them to stand up. A personal message can be written by the sender on the plain non-glossy white back, or you can have the same thing embossed inside them all. You can choose one photo to use on all of the NoteCards, or you can pick a different one for each. Envelopes are included for mailing, which assumes that the lucky recipient will be able to part with any of the NoteCards. ;-)

These are the Greeting Cards, which kick the NoteCard idea up a notch and take them to a new level of cool.

MOO Greeting Cards are like traditional cards; they open like a book, and they can be personalized with anything you like – which means that they can be seasonal or all purpose. Mine are all different photos which I took at the San Angelo Water Lilly Garden in 2006; they have been reproduced in vivid glossy color on the card fronts, with a mini picture on the backs above a copyright notice sporting my name. The insides of mine are non-glossy white paper, but other colors are available. The insides can be left blank for handwritten notes later, or personalized with a standard message. Imagine the possibilities: personalized Christmas cards, personalized “just because” cards, baby announcements, wedding invitations, photos of favorite pets, photos of your children…the only limit is your imagination!

MOO Postcards are my personal favorite; I took a set of photos at the San Angelo Colts Carnival last year of my two Sarahs. The fronts are beautiful, glossy and vivid…

…and the backs are lined for addressing and ready for sending. I can guarantee that mine will never be sent, however. I love the thick paper used for these postcards so much, that I will likely be ordering more prints to add to the collection. I have in mind making a large collage, something that will incorporate some of these new family postcards with the antique ones my uncle collected and which I inherited. As with all other MOO products, you can order one print, or do like I did and order different ones for each postcard; the results are fabulous! After seeing how beautifully these turned out, I know that I will be ordering more soon. :-)
