I think your right, but I am working on getting networking re-setup on my Neuros. Maybe I'll get it going later tonight. I am trying to setup a WRT54G with Tomato on my TV Stand where the Neuros is and it can get out but I can not telnet or SSH into the Neuros. I am betting I need to do something with WDS on the router to get it working.

Thanks FJ! <img

Timed recording through a web interface should be available soon in a new beta firmware we are working on. We have other goodies we will share with you before thanksgiving.
Good luck to you all.
FJ

That might help get around the aforementioned 2 hour problem.

I think it would be nice if it had a large hard drive built in as kind of a getting started package. I like the idea of wireless connections too. It would be great to send or receive without having to connect a mobile device directly to it.

If you’re going to add a browser, how about something to download (on a schedule) video podcasts, maybe even audio podcasts?<br

If that's not doable have MVPMC ported over thus giving it MythTV thin client functionality. Having a schedules direct support would be great so that you could search a programming guide to set timed recordings in a similar fashion as Tivo.

Have the NeurosOSD as an officially supported MythTV thin client. To be able to stream the movies over this server like MythWeb does. As for home movies, having the ability to easily upload to youtube would be beneficial. Support for file systems other than fat32 to avoid the 2gb limitation. As a Linux user I would like to see more documentation on their site about using the device in Linux. Right now I see a lot of Windows and OS X docs. Transcoding into other formats would be nice too instead of just mp4. This may tax the device though. Fuser support, particularly sshfs.

I did not see if the Neuros had a built in webserver but that would be great. It will divide it into multiple files. So you will miss some of the show. I agree....it's a problem. Fortunately, for me, over 2 hours isn't something I normally do.

They can get around this by using something other than FAT32. Apparently this is a problem as mentioned in Neuros' forums.

My wish is that the OSD could reliably record movies/shows over 2 hours long.
