Visiontac VGPS-900: Bluetooth Datalogging GPS with Voice Recorder

Posted on 06 November 2008 by

Need to track yourself or someone else?  The Visiontac VGPS-900 may be just the ticket with up to 2 GB of microSD storage, a Voice Recorder and “Spy Mode” .  This may be just the thing to record where you’ve been or to possibly track where your teenager has done with your car if your into that sort of thing.  It records the data in a CSV format and works with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.  It also includes Time Album software for Windows, Mac and Linux as well.  This software is supposed to help you geotag pictures.  This might be the next best thing to a Eye-Fi SD card.  It may even be better as it’s a real GPS when the EyeFi utilizes skyhook and wifi to geolocate your pictures.

One use for this type of GPS I see might be for the Open Street Map project.  Open Street Map is a free and editable map that is created by it’s users.  Think of it as Wikipedia for maps!

The Visiontac VGPS-900 is available for $109 plus shipping from the Visiontac web site.
