blackberry screen capture utility.jpg

Up until now the only way I’d found to take screen shots of my BlackBerry was by using the USB cable to connect to a computer running screen capture software. This isn’t always convenient – especially if I’m out of the office and want to capture a screen image without the use of a cable. There’s a new free application for the BlackBerry called CaptureIt. Simply download the program over-the-air (OTA) and assign it to one of your convenience keys (I use the left key on my Bold). When you push the convenience key your BlackBerry takes a picture of the current BlackBerry screen. The image is then automatically saved to your Media folder where you can email it out. IMPORTANT: Make sure you follow the instructions and adjust your permissions on the BlackBerry – Options – Advanced Options – Applications – CaptureIt – Edit Permissions or you’ll receive an error message when you try to run it).
