SplashData just released two cool iPhone applications that I’ve loaded and like quite a bit. The first is Holidays. It does one thing — allow you to see a list of holidays for 63 different countries. These holidays come sorted in date order with icons that make important ones easy to find. Have you ever scheduled an important meeting or trip during a holiday that you may not celebrate? This app lists them all and lets you avoid scheduling conflicts and embarrassment.

Birthdays uses your iPhone contact information to display an upcoming birthday list. No need to miss another birthday because you “forgot”. If you’re into the whole astrological thing there’s even an automatic indication of which zodiac sign your contact’s birth date falls under.
