It’s always a sad day when you learn the secret behind things that seem almost magical. My kids got a dose of this type of reality letdown the night they woke up while the tooth fairy was placing money under their pillow. For me it was about five minutes ago when I spotted these Taekwondo Practice Rebreakable Boards on DealExtreme. I’m not sure I’ll ever watch a Taekwondo demonstration the same way ever again. What’s next – psychics who really can’t read minds? Bigfoot in a freezer that’s really not Bigfoot?

We use the same thing where I teach at nights. It’s much cheaper than real boards which are used for belt tests and the student gets to keep their broken boards as a momento of the occasion.

The boards come in different strengths of breakability so a student can progress safely without getting hurt/splinters etc. You can also stack them to increase proper punching and kicking strength.

Funny, we use real boards. I know because I fractured my hand on one try where I got cocky.
