Not since the Omnibook 300 (and it’s later and amazing color sibling, the Omnibook 800, pictured), though, has HP captured my passionate support in the way the new HP Mini 1000 does. I’m not along. Netbooks are all the rage this year and the Mini 1000 consistently appears at the top of critical reviews. It’s high design and superb usability have even won over at least one hard core Apple fanboy. Thanks-
Pointer Stick- good point.
Trackpad button- I totally forgot to mention the little on/off trackpad button. It is that kind of attention to detail that makes this thing so excellent. Well done HP!

Joel-<br

What I simply do not get with netbooks: why is everyone shipping a trackpad? Why isn't anyone putting pointing sticks in their netbooks? The pointing stick would be IDEAL for these small devices. Then you could but the buttons in the proper place instead of the side of the trackpad.

The Mini Note 1000 is awesome.
