Stay away from the Markspace application. Run as fast as you can. Saying it sucks is being kind. It corrupted many records, created duplicates of things (sometimes over 10 instances of the same record), crashed alot, and required me to rebuild my Entourage database. Then they fought me on giving my money back. I own a software company, so I’m not a techno-newbie. I know horrible quality when I see. Save yourselves the headaches and wasted time.

Wh do we let ourselves get taken in by people like mark space? Totally unhelpful thieves. so far have spent $60 to get nothing in return except hours of f.. hassle. Thanks Markspace.

I can confirm this. Missing sync with blackberry 8900 did also produce the duplications described above

BB Curve 8900 is an equal nightmare. i was using missing sync v1.3 with curve 8320 and all was fine. paid extra to upgrade to v2.0 which keeps hanging. tried syncing only calendar (both ical and/or entourage 2008) and never managed to complete a sync. just stops midway with some sync error. also wont BT pair between macbook air and 8900. tried missing sync support which is equally useless.
anyone have a solution for ical/entourage 2008 sync with USB or BT??

Now that the new BB Curve 8900 is available, I was seriously considering one of those. Does Missing Sync work ok on the new curve 8900?

I would recommend using homing pigeons or smoke signals instead of this stupid iPhone wannabe
It's the phone equivalent of Vista. …. have wasted hours trying to get it working… the blackberry Storm is a waste space… it is landfill….give me a cheap little Nokia like the ones on prepaid ANY DAY. It makes phone calls well and it easy to write a text message on. The touch screen and interface on the Storm is infuriating for these simple purposes.

I am experiencing the exact same issues. I am using a Blackberry Curve with OS 4.5, and not the BOLD, but I believe that the 4.5 OS is experiencing the same issues. I was wondering what you were referring to when you say "next week's upgrade".

Does anybody have a solution to this? I'm willing to purchase a different kind of software. I have a new Bold, and I'm using Address Book on a Mac. I just realized only 2,300 of my 2,400+ contacts are on my Mac. The full list of contacts is on my Bold. So, I need to somehow get the contacts that are on my Bold backed up.

I also have been having the same sync issue with Address book and Missing Sync tech support sends emails claiming they have fixed it and have a work around – right now the only way to work around – is to have the desktop overwrite the blackberry on every sync. They charge us for software that does not function as sold – and the repsonse to fix it is very poor – you can't even call tech support to get answers. I have tried Pocketmac and that will not work either – Blackberry needs to get with it – and provide the MAC world with a sync software that works – very frustrated – and not sure what else to try – pay for software that does not work.

We have the same kind of problems with the contacts and it is really annoying. All contacts have been exchanged by Missing Sync against one particuklar contact. The process above does not work anymore because missing sync does not find the Blackberry any more. This software is a nightmare. Though Pocketmac is rubbish too – I have never managed to finish any sync with Pocketmac. Maybe it is also due to the lausy Blackberry operating system for the bold.

I've had nothing but problems after switching from Curve's to Bold using missing sync. Contacts duplicate like described above. Contacts are erased without any notice. all-day events are synced as if they bridge midnight. You get warning's that more than 5% of calendar data will get deleted. I've emailed missingsync and got replies all saying that they are known issues. I then got the november email saying that BOLD is now supported. WITHOUT A DOUBT THIS IS TOTALLY FALSE ADVERTISING. Up until now Missingsync worked flawlessly, but with the Bold its been nothing but misery. Maybe next week's upgrade will improve the situation. If not, we'll have to wait until RIM FINALLY releases their own software as both Pocketmac and Missingsync are JUNK!

I only used Missing Sync to take contacts from Mac Address Book.

For calendar I use the Google Calendar and Google offers a free sync utility that has worked beautifully and syncs my calendar wirelessly.

My tasks are on Toodledo which unfortunately doesn’t have a BlackBerry client yet. Same for notes. (Toodledo can be synched to iPhone quite wonderfully using Appligo’s TODO and NOTEBOOK apps)

Yeah I can attest to this happening a few times. Fairly annoying. Hopefully they get a fix out soon for this.
