HP Magic Giveaway: The Gadgeteer, GottaBeMobile, and istartedsomething

Today’s HP Magic Giveaway sites are The Gadgeteer, GottaBeMobile, and istartedsomething. Bear in mind that each site will have their own requirements for the giveaway, and they may also have their own rules that will not apply on other sites.

Here’s a quick synopsis of today’s giveaway sites’ details…

The Gadgeteer:

1. Create a completely original piece of gadget inspired techie artwork that includes the word gadgeteer somewhere in it. The artwork can be a painting, a drawing, a sculpture, a carving, whatever you might consider to be art. The sky is the limit, but please be as creative as possible.

2. Take one digital picture of your artwork. Make sure the image is at least 1024×768 resolution. Images smaller than 1024×768 will be disqualified.

3. Email your image to contest@the-gadgeteer.com

4. In the subject line of the email type: HP Magic Giveaway

5. In the body of the email type a short description of your artwork. By short, I mean 10 sentences or less.

6. I will be putting these images up on my flickr stream, so you’ll all be able to enjoy them.

GottaBeMobile:

Here are the two steps for entering our contest for your chance to win over $6000 in computers, software, and accessories. In addition, be sure to read below for how to earn “bonus points”.

Steps

1) Submit your nomination entry

2) Subscribe to our email news update.

Bonus Points

There are several ways of adding bonus points to your entry. These are completely optional, and the lack of bonus points will not hurt a truly outstanding entry. Who knows, though, it just might be enough to put you over the edge! Conversely, bonus points will not help an absolutely lousy entry, so make sure your entry is up to snuff. Now on to the details about how to earn bonus points.

Entrants who followed steps 1 and 2 above will receive bonus points on their entry for forum participation. Reply to or create at least one topic in either our HP or Vista forum categories. The more participation, the more points. If you are not already a member of our forums, register here. We think you’ll like our community….

In addition, if you create a video to go along with your entry, that will be looked upon very favorably. It must be unique to GottaBeMobile’s HP Magic Giveaway contest, and mention GottaBeMobile, HP, and Microsoft somewhere in the video. There is a place in the entry form for you to put a link to your hosted video from YouTube, Blip.tv, etc.

istartedsomething:

The dates.
Competition starts on Tuesday, 2nd of December 2008 and ends on Tuesday, 9th of December 2009, sometime during the day, maybe after I eat lunch. The winner will be picked and notified not long (pun) after the competition is closed.

The most important bit.
Submit your name and email address to receive a free entry in the draw.

The second most important bit.
For being good sports, Windows Vista users are elibigle for a bonus entry (thus doubling your chances of winning). To claim your bonus entry, download and run the application below to verify your eligibility. If you are eligible, it will then prompt you to enter the email address you’ve submitted previously and add a bonus credit to your entry. If you don’t use Vista, now would be a good time to check it out at a friend’s house.

The text you can’t be stuffed reading.
Only one entry per person. Split personalities do not qualify. Anyone found submitting multiple entries will be automatically disqualified and cursed with a spell that will have little to no effect. Friends and families of HP and Microsoft are eligible to enter, but you’ll probably have better chances begging such employees for freebies yourselves. If under the circumstance Long picks himself as the winner, you reserve the right to kick him and make him pick another winner.
