My favorite gadget of 2008 is the 3G iPhone. I don’t have one but it sure looks cool. I love the TV commercials for the iPhone. Now you can download ebooks from the library to your iPhone too!
Thanks for the chance.

My favorite gadget in 2008 was the iPhone 3G, of course. Why? Because the iPhone changes everything. The proverbial paradigm changer. It is not a cellphone that runs programs like the other smartphones. The iPhone is first and foremost a computer, a computer that has cellphone functionality. 3G capability just makes it that much sweeter. And because it is a computer, all things are possible for the future of the iPhone. I love the location based services that iPhone already provides, and I can tell LBS will be huge in the near future.

My favorite gadget of 2008 – has to be the Tablet PC. the iphone 3G comes close, but I’m still a tablet guy at heart.
Judie – would love the Fuze!!!

My Favorite gadget is my ATT Tilt boy do i love my smart phone and it would gladly step down for a Fuze
December 21st, 2008 at 1:04 am
It’s got to be the Fuze. I got it the day it came out and it’s a huge upgrade from the Tilt. It’s fast, the interface is great and the hardware is beyond any other phone (fm tuner, tv out, etc). It’s also the first HTC phone that’s actually attractive and you don’t mind showing in public. Out of the box it’s great and with tweaking it’s ridiculous. It’s powerful – I have 5 different web browsers to choose from including Iris which is based on the same rendering engine as Safari or I can use SkyFire which can literally show any webpage and flash, etc is not problem. It’s also a full VGA screen and you notice the sharpness (yup, sharper than the iPhone).

My favorite gadget is my ppc 6700. It may be old but the wifi still works great
.
December 21st, 2008 at 1:50 am
This is pretty easy. I bugged Judie and a bunch of other people about whether I should get an HTC Advantage, and then the Celio Redfly came out. So I bugged all those same people again for their opinions on that. I almost ordered it three times before finally pulling the trigger. It has taken its lumps from critics, but I don’t think any of those naysayers have used one. It has opened up a whole new world for my TILT and I can now do almost anything from almost anywhere. It IS my favorite gadget this year and looks like it will be able to work with almost any phone I choose in the future…..like this Fuze!!

My Favorite gadget of 2008 would be my unlocked t-mobile g1. i’m always looking for the new exclusive smart phone. and the g1 is that. i love the way i can customize it to fit who i am. because of its ability to be customizable just the way i want it to be makes me very pleased. From the 3 home screens, to the applications. it makes being a phone nerd feel extra cool. but just the thought of owning an htc fuze gets me excited. so please quench this phone geeks thirst.

My favourite gadget for 2008 was iphone 3G. Its the best touchscreen phone i can use with my fingers.
December 21st, 2008 at 3:31 am
My favorite gadget would have to be the ipod touch 2g because I love having apps!!
December 21st, 2008 at 4:23 am
My favorite gadget for 2008 must be the G1. I can’t wait to get my hands on one (It came to the old world just a few days ago).
The gadget I used every day is my Treo 680 – and I’m still hoping that palm will come up with some really cool things in January
(I’m from Germany but I do have a shipping-address in the Continental USA)

XD!!! If nearly everyone here’s favorite gadget is the iPhone, why are they trying to win a completely not iPhone ..phone? -amused-
Otherwise, my favorite gadget of 2008? Actually, no particular gadget stuck out (else I’d have less trouble filling my christmas list). I guess I do like the netbooks–if only they’d started earlier! All I wanted was a little email, web and typing machine, and I had to buy a 1200$ laptop because netbooks didn’t EXIST in 2007. That’s kind of insane.
(and now they all tempt me and I’m like, you’re cheap! Why not buy you? … but I already have an awesome laptop! siiigh.)

I’m not too sure if my gadget will count since it was released about two years ago, but I just got it this year. My favorite gadget of 2008 was my black Apple MacBook. It was my very first Mac and I instantly fell in love. Everything is just so easy to use and it all works. I absolutely can’t live without it. I use to watch movies from iTunes and I lug it with me around to class and just about anywhere else. I loved it so much I ended up getting an iPhone 3G to get OsX mobile, but that doesn’t mean I’m afraid to give Windows mobile a little love especially when it’s on an AT&T Fuze!!
December 21st, 2008 at 5:58 am
My favorite gadget for 2008 is the Samsung NC-10. With the latest generation of netbooks the manufacturers are delivering really useful laptops and this Samsung is very impressive.
December 21st, 2008 at 7:12 am
My favorite gadget of 2008 was the iPod Touch. I’ve been able to experiment around with it, jailbreak it, add a lot of amazing applications from the App Store and modify it a lot. This is a very customizeable gadget and it’s fun to play with. The touchscreen and accelerometer feature make this a really great gadget.
December 21st, 2008 at 7:44 am
Not sure if it came out in 2008, but I recently picked up a Canon Vixia HG20 digital camcorder. It records in 1080i and has a built-in 60 GB hard drive. Awesome camera, especially in low-light.
The primary reason for the purchase was so we could have memories of our first child who is due in June.
Thanks for the contest!

I think my favorite gadget of the year, the one that I can’t seem to keep my hands off is probably my iPhone. While I realize a lot of others have said the same thing, that’s ok. Mind you it’s not perfect, if I could combine some of the features of my WinMo phones it may move it closer to that mark. I love having my music with me at all times, And the web browsing experience is pretty darn good. There are a few good apps out there that add some great functionality, and some pretty bad ones. I do think the mighty Apple needs to listen to suggestions and get copy/paste functionality, the ability for 3rd party notifications, and SyncML calendar sync. Saying that it is my favourite gadget of the year.
December 21st, 2008 at 8:20 am
It has to be my iphone 3g only after jailbreaking it. But I do miss my AT&T Tilt. If I won the Fuze I would definitely go back to WimMobile.
December 21st, 2008 at 8:38 am
It’s gotta be the uni body Macbook Pro. It’s got so much possibilities with dual GPU i think it is going to change what laptops are used for.
December 21st, 2008 at 8:46 am
Nokia E71, great Swiss pocket Knife cell phone.
December 21st, 2008 at 10:47 am
I would have to say it is the Fujitsu ST6012 Slate Tablet PC. The tablet seems to be a dying breed especially in the slate form factor. It is good to see that Fujitsu is not abandoning the tablet.
December 21st, 2008 at 10:49 am
I am going to say the iPhone, I don’t have one but I have seen “normal” people become obsessed with showing each other all the different apps they have installed…
December 21st, 2008 at 10:50 am
My favorite is still the iPhone 3G with the AppStore (that’s the key). Its replaced everything I used to do with Windows Mobile – and suprisingly has now (using Task2Gather) allowed my family to assign out things that need to get done around the house. Heck my wife is not even using an iPod Touch daily and she’s about as technologically challenged as they come!
December 21st, 2008 at 11:02 am
iPod Touch – got it, love it. As appealing as the iPhone is, with my particular location/circumstances the it doesn’t do me any good….
December 21st, 2008 at 11:19 am
Well, it came about for some before 2008, but it was this year that I got my retirement aged parents a Wii and I’ve never seen two people become so enthralled! Seeing the fun they are having with it (and with any sort of technology at all!) is my highlight of 2008.
December 21st, 2008 at 11:28 am
I’d say my favorite was the HTC Touch HD. It’s everything I wanted in a device: large screen for on-screen keyboard, Windows Mobile because of the great community that comes with it (XDA Developers, Smartphone & PPC Mag, etc), GPS, large hi-resolution screen and a 3.5mm headset jack.
What more could a guy ask for in a device?
December 21st, 2008 at 11:31 am
My favorite gadget of 2008 has to be the OQO Model 2. I did end up having to sell mine because to many little issues with it turned into one big issue but that thing caused some serious gadget lust.
December 21st, 2008 at 11:35 am
I love my Zune 120 … I know, it’s not as good as iPod, but I really don’t know anyone who has a iPhone or Touch. Wierd, huh?
December 21st, 2008 at 11:43 am
Samsung NC10 netbook. For so many of the netbooks, you give up a decent keyboard and battery life. This netbook has both these problems covered with its design. The only negative, if it is one at all, is that the unit has 802.11(g) instead of 802.11(n) wireless.
December 21st, 2008 at 11:46 am
My favorite gadget of 2008 was the HTC fuze because its a great phone and it has it all even though i don’t have it but i would love to have one.
December 21st, 2008 at 11:48 am
I would have to say my fave gadget of 2008 has to be Netbooks. The wide selection of Netbooks with different manufactures and price points. And most of the big players and even the small players all vying for a spot for the lucrative low cost alternatives to the expensive Laptops. Especially with the weak economy Netbooks had a great year. And can’t wait for next year for Dual-core Atom processors, 3G, Wimax, Nvidia chips in Netbooks. Only wish Apple made a Netbook this year. But with the amount of hackintosh Netbooks around it’s still the year of the Netbook.

My favorite gadget for 2008 would be the Rovio. I just hope it obeys the Three Laws of Robotics
December 21st, 2008 at 1:05 pm
My favorite tech gadget of 2008 is DEFINITELY the Sling Box Pro. I haven’t missed a sporting event this entire year! If I can tell anyone to get one tech gadget it would be to look into a Sling Box.
December 21st, 2008 at 1:09 pm
My Favorite Gadget is the Nokia E71. It has a great web browser, nice keyboard, Exchange support, plus it is beautiful.
December 21st, 2008 at 1:41 pm
My favorite gadget was the HTC Touch HD. Nice big screen, good form factor, and let’s face it, damn sexy. No 3G in the US kills it for me though, so the Touch Pro/Fuze becomes my next favorite choice.
December 21st, 2008 at 2:48 pm
My favorite gadget of 2008 was probably my new espresso grinder. Couldn’t live, or at least stay awake, without it. A close second is my Blackberry Pearl, the big keys fit my fingers just right and the gps is a lifesaver since I’m a navigational numbskull.
I love these Gear Diary drawings!
December 21st, 2008 at 3:27 pm
iPhone 3G, for my line of work, sitting in a cubicle to limited access to outside internet sites, it keeps me connected to the rest of the real world.
December 21st, 2008 at 3:47 pm
I love my iPhone 3G, but I think my favorite gadget of the year was my pink Eee PC 701. I remember the awe I felt opening up the box and taking it out–it was so tiny and adorable! I used to lust after the Sony Picturebooks because I wanted a laptop that would fit in my purse, and the Eee PC fit the bill nicely.
I’ve been consistently impressed with how well it handles Ubuntu and how great it is for me as a writer. I’m very proud of taking it out on the town, even though now it’s not as rare and exciting now that netbooks are becoming the new hot thing. It helped me write a novel this year and now it’s helping me write another one! If I get published, maybe I’ll bronze it.
December 21st, 2008 at 3:48 pm
My favorite gadget was the Belkin Mini Power Strip. I like the small size and the ability to power USB devices by plugging directly into the strip.
December 21st, 2008 at 4:02 pm
My favorite gadget for 2008 was the iPhone 3G because it was very easy to use, innovative, and cool.
the GUI is just awesome.
December 21st, 2008 at 4:38 pm
I would really like to have a netbook. I can’t believe how small and fast and useful things are getting… maybe one day we will have the car from the Jetsons that folds down into a mirrored compact with the touch of a button…
December 21st, 2008 at 4:38 pm
My favorite gadget is the Sandisk Sansa 4GB Clip that I got on Black Friday. I can’t believe how small the thing is.
December 21st, 2008 at 5:42 pm
My favorite gadget was my little canon camera. Its smaller than my dslr but that made it so handy to have with me all year. Whether it was our first wedding anniversary or the fires last month. It was always ready to serve. That makes it number one!
Hmm i wonder if i can make it take a picture of itself… hmmmm
December 21st, 2008 at 6:44 pm
2008 was quite a tumultuous year for me, filled with some great highs and some terrible lows. I started the year with a work-issued “Cingular” 8125 which I enjoyed (other than the slow EDGE), but had to give it up when I changed positions in our company (former boss wouldn’t let me take it with me). Since then I have been trying to soldier on with a conventional Nokia flip phone (I prefer candy bar style phones), and realized just how much I missed having a smartphone. I couldn’t afford to get my own personal smartphone, so after much research, I bought an iPod Touch to replace my personal iPaq 4150 and Sandisk MP3 player, both of which were in process of dying.
The Touch has been the greatest gadget for me this year because it allows me to sync with my home PC for my music, videos, bookmarks, podcasts, etc, and I sync at work for contacts and calendar stuff. I would still prefer a smartphone, but for now, the iPod Touch has helped rescue me.
December 21st, 2008 at 7:15 pm
My favorite gadget of 2008 would be my Ipod. Even though it is
“old” news it still had a large impact due to its ability to delivery content to me anytime and anywhere.
December 21st, 2008 at 8:03 pm
My favourite gadget of 2008 was the HTC Diamond.
It really brought sexy back to WM platform with the great interface, the EXTREMELY sharp screen and its TINY size. Fuze is more practical though with the keyboard.
I am hoping to getting my hands on it
December 21st, 2008 at 8:51 pm
My favorite would be the Fuze if I won it. LOL.
My iphone 3g currently.
Thanks for the contest.
December 21st, 2008 at 9:45 pm
A bit dated, but my favorite is my Dell Axim Pocket PC. I play Bejeweled in my “free” moments between running around. Right now I’ve got over 15,000,000 points — I am such an addict, but it’s fun.
December 21st, 2008 at 9:52 pm
My favorite gadget of 2008 is the new unibody MacBook Pro. I’d love one!
December 21st, 2008 at 9:57 pm
I know it’s a overused choice, but my fav gadget for 2008 would be the iPhone. It’s not just the hardware, or the software design, or the app store, or even the fact it’s popular; it’s the fact that due to it there has been a massive change how people look at gadgets in general. No longer are the guys with touchscreen phones or blackberries geeks and business workers – the potential of these devices is now known to everyone.
I personally think the iPhone got more right than any other device – someone recently blogged that when they were looking for a live-blogging tool for CES the iPhone was the one device that could do everything well in the small package, beating netbooks, other smartphones, and UMPC’s. The iPhone didn’t just change the game, it rewrote a bunch of rules, and I’m looking forward to 2009 and beyond because of it.
December 21st, 2008 at 10:39 pm
Oooh, that’s a toughie. It’d be a close tie between my iPod Touch and my HTC X7501, but I’d have to say the iPod by virtue of it’s slim size and it’s fascinating (to me at least) capacitive touch screen and gesture routine. It’s small size and snappy performance makes it convenient to check work emails fairly unobtrusively while in meetings. I confess, it’s a fun toy and I can actually use it to get some work done.
Thanks for having the contest!
December 22nd, 2008 at 12:01 am
My favorite gadget of 2008 has to be the Nintendo Wii that we got our kids. They love it, and I love seeing them actually able to be nice to each other when they are playing it. I’m thinking about actually MAKING them play it more!
December 22nd, 2008 at 12:49 am
My favorite gadget of 2008 would have to be the Roku Netflix box. It has essentially taken over as my main way to utilize my Netflix account.
I still have DVDs sitting here that need to be watched and/or need to be sent back. Yet night after night, here I am adding more titles to my Instant Queue and wathing them on my TV seconds later.
Dead simple UI. Tiny physical dimensions. Just works, and works well. And with the HD update rolling out now, I’m soon to be an even happier camper.
December 22nd, 2008 at 1:31 am
My favorite gadget of 2008 has to be HTC Fuze, of course. It is becuase I am the one still using separate PDA and cell phone (no camera). Combining both of them together would be great. And, it is what I am wishing for if I am luck enough to have it from “Santa”. Please…
December 22nd, 2008 at 2:39 am
I would have to say it’s the iphone 3g… its been out for over a year already but it seems like the innovation that it is spurring is worthy of nomination for years to come! People say netbooks are all the rage… I give the 3g a few more months and apps and it will be able to replace any small portable laptop around… except for the macbook air of course!!! That fuse would be great!!
December 22nd, 2008 at 9:19 am
My gadget of the year is Nokia E71. Its is awesome – Free turn by turn GPS nav, US 3G, WiFi, QWERTY keyboard and it is smaller than the iPhone…
December 22nd, 2008 at 11:00 am
My favorite was the HTC Touch HD. Hi-resolution screen, GPS and a 3.5mm headset jack. Windows Mobile and the community that comes with it ( especially XDA Developers)
Ravi.
December 22nd, 2008 at 12:38 pm
My favourite device for 2008 has been the Dell Mini 9, for a very low price (Less than most smartphones) have full computing at my hand and it fits in all of my cases with suprising ease!
December 22nd, 2008 at 1:04 pm
The ASUS n10j-a1, 10″ netbook (even though ASUS will tell you it’s not a netbook, it’s an atom, c’mon). Nvidia graphics, no less, Nvidia graphics that you can switch off for power savings; that is a great idea. The netbook category is a little stale with a dozen different entries that have virtually identical specs. ASUS spiced things up a little bit and hopefully the n10j will be the start of many more options in the category.
December 22nd, 2008 at 2:54 pm
My favorite gadget of 08 would have to be netbooks. What a great idea for a laptop – easy to use while watching tv, and no more excuses for leaving a computer at home when you need it most. I don’t have one yet, but I did get one for my dad for Christmas. Maybe after I set it up for him it’ll convince me to get one of my own!
December 22nd, 2008 at 3:03 pm
I’m a big fan of the HTC Touch Pro. I appreciate what the iPhone did for the industry, but it’s not my personal favorite.
There are a lot of things to choose from and I’m not sure what came out in 2008. I like the increasing availability of devices to capture video quickly, major gains in SSD storage, and the mobile phone market is changing like crazy. My favorite so far is definitely the Fuze and I’m trying to figure out how to save enough to buy one if I don’t win.
December 22nd, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Would love one.
Favorite gadget of the year was the iphone 3g. After a long search through various cell phones over the years, the iphone delivered for me.
December 23rd, 2008 at 5:42 am
Fave gadget IS the HTC Touch Pro/Fuze–gotta have that querty KB magic. I’m also one of those rare creatures that actually like WinMo (although the coming new version oughta blow away 6.1, I’m hopin’).
I’m not a huge fan of either AT & T or Sprint–like the Sprint $99 everything plan but customer service and reception is in the tank; and, I may need GSM/SIM-swap capabilities for traveling overseas next year…so, looks like the Fuze version is my baby!
Feed me, Seymour!
December 23rd, 2008 at 11:30 am
My favorite gadget of 2008 was my Harmony One Logitech remote. The only universal remote that is better than 90% of the original remotes it replaces and doesn’t literally take a week to program.
The backlit buttons are incredible when in the dark and the display is crisp and simple. Most important, it has a very high WAF! (Wife Acceptance Factor)
December 23rd, 2008 at 11:44 am
I’ve got to also go with the iPhone 3G. I almost went for the Fuze, but I then decided to go for the fun, form, large community, app store, etc. of the iPhone – and it’s become my best little friend. I still like to have the Fuze, though…
December 23rd, 2008 at 11:49 am
My gadget of the year is the Google Android phone. My wife got an iPhone, and while I like the device, it is not the gadget for me. I like the tactile feedback of buttons on my device, especially a phone. I want to be able to make and take calls without having to look at the device.
December 23rd, 2008 at 11:58 am
At the risk of sounding too much like a me too post, I would have to say that the greatest gadget of 2008 would have to be the iPhone 3G. It has made the rest of the industry wake up start innovating. The interface just works and makes sense. I still have gripes about lack of functionality, but all-in-all this release along with the app store/itunes integration has been great.
That being said, I do miss Windows Mobile and I would love to win this device!
December 23rd, 2008 at 12:08 pm
I was really impressed by the Apple iTouch this year. It’s a great gadget and the fact that Apple keeps improving it with periodic software updates, just makes me love it all the more.
December 23rd, 2008 at 12:09 pm
I will have to caveat this with the fact that I have never used this device, but in concept, the WowWee Rovio is very cool. I think I would need 2, since I don’t think it will do stairs, but to be able to converse with my kids when I’m away and follow them around with the wifi webcam is really sweet.
December 23rd, 2008 at 12:26 pm
My favourite gadget was my iPod Touch.
For something which isn’t supposed to be as good as having an iPhone it was brilliant and I’ve had people all year saying ‘you have an iPhone?’.
So yeah that’s my favourite.
December 23rd, 2008 at 12:51 pm
My favorite was my iPod Touch. Many a workout wouldn’t have gotten done without my Touch. I love the look of it and besides my cell phone, it’s the thing I grab when I walk out of the house.
December 23rd, 2008 at 12:59 pm
my favorite gadget in 2008 would have to be my ipod touch, i thought that apple wasn’t going to be able to top there previous ipods and what do you know they come out with an ipod that is capable of not only listening to music but also has wifi and includes many entertaining and helpful apps as well. this is just a great new gadget that i really enjoy and am able to check up on my facebook, myspace, and weather in just a quick tap i really cant wait to see what other gadgets await us in 2009.
December 23rd, 2008 at 1:06 pm
My favorite was definitely my iPhone 3G.
Thanks
December 23rd, 2008 at 1:07 pm
My favorite gadget of 2008 is the MacBook Pro (late 2008) aka the Unibody MBP. It’s my favorite because it replaces my 3 year old Aluminum PowerBook. It allows me to run windows, which I need from time to time for work, and I can do that while running OSX still. And it’s so much faster than my old AlBook. My favorite feature of the MBP is the multi-touch trackpad. It reminds me of the FingerWorks’ iGesturePad. I am really looking forward to see what else Apple does with FingerWorks’ technology, in the future.
December 23rd, 2008 at 1:41 pm
My favorite gadget was my HTC P4000, aka Mogul. First, I can develop for it using notions I’m already familiar with. Second, I can hack it as I like, install what I want, how I want it. Third, that sliding keyboard is a must for me, as I’m too clumsy with a screen keyboard, and use two languages which can cause me headackes with auto-correction software.
Moving to an HTC Touch Pro would be the definitive next logical step for me!
December 23rd, 2008 at 2:15 pm
My favorite small gadget that I got this 2008 is my Sony PRS 505, and I prefer it over my Amazon Kindle. I like it better than my Kindle because it can read PDF files immediately without any conversion. Ebooks in PDF format are very abundant in the internet and I don’t have to pay a dime to read good books.
My other favorite gadget which I got this 2008 and is my BMW 325i.
December 23rd, 2008 at 2:33 pm
my fav new tech would have to be the 3g iphone
December 23rd, 2008 at 3:25 pm
My fav is my iPod touch. Interesting GUI, usable apps and finally a place for my media….
December 23rd, 2008 at 4:28 pm
HTC Touch HD. I want one!!! But . . . I’d gladly settle for a Fuze…
December 23rd, 2008 at 6:36 pm
My Favorite Gadget would have to be my Acer Aspire One. 120 gig drive, dual boot with xp and ubuntu 8.10. Handy little gadget. Looking at adding a touch screen to it just for fun.
December 23rd, 2008 at 7:17 pm
The MagicJack device is my favorite. It is fantastic! Plug it into a USB port and plug your telephone line into the device. Bingo! You got VOIP and you select your phone number from almost any areacode in the USA. Total cost is less than $20 per YEAR – including the device! Note, that is PER YEAR – not per month! Of course – when away from home, my choice would be the Fuze! I need one!

My favorite gadget for 2008 was a Logitech Quickcam Pro for Notebook.
The Quickcam easily installed and works superb with Skype. The Quickcam came with a carrying case and stand for truly mobile videoconferencing and recording.

I love the iPhone 3G. It’s sleek interface impresses me: the incredible thinness, how easy it is to maneuver around and use its features. I love how its sensors know when you turn the phone sideways, the whole screen turns into a widescreen. In Laberinth, you try to get the ball into the goal without dropping into any holes. It’s very fun because you tilt the iPhone like you’re actually using the real, non-electronic version of it. I also want to try the FUZE, because it also looks sleek and the keyboard added doesn’t add much more thickness to it. Thank you, GearDiary (or Judie) for reading this message. =]

It’s got to be the iPhone 3G… it really puts the world in my pocket.

Looked at one of these in an AT&T store the other day and I couldn’t believe how tiny it is. Next to my current phone, an AT&T 8525, it’s miniscule! Can’t imagine how they crammed a VGA screen in there. Nice, nice device. Would have picked it up if I were elegible for an upgrade. Maybe geardiary.com will give me an early upgrade? Please?

Wish I could get a U.S. version of a HTC HD.

My favorite gadget of 08 is the Wii fit. I swear I get more of a workout from laughing my head off while we use it than the actual use. I laugh so hard at the both of us.

My favorite is the Sony reader, along with Duracell’s booklight that runs on CR2032 coin batteries.
Two years ago, my wife packed 20 lbs of book to read while on vacation! I actually hurt my back lugging the extra weight.
Now, carrying 40+ books is a breeze! It is so easy to use on the plane, and also when carrying the baby (leaving only one hand free to “turn the page”.

Hmm so many great gadgets this year, it’s hard to choose just one…
I would say the #1 best gadget of the year would be: T-Mobile G1.
This cell phone tops my list because of it’s great features. The phone has a touchscreen, a physical QWERTY keyboard, a decent camera, microSD slot for extra storage, and most importantly the Andriod operating system. This phone is setting a new standard with its open source operating system. The only draw is the plethora of Google apps, but for a first gen Andriod phone it sets the bar high. However, as an AT&T customer the G1 is not an option for me, but hopefully I can win the HTC Fuze as a consolation prize. :p

Logitech 890 remote control for my entertainment system. It is way more than a universal remote since it has macros which can turn on multiple functions in my system. I love it.

It’s a toss up between my ATT Curve and 2nd Gen Touch. I love the touch, esp on the road, but I have to say it is the Curve.
Unfortunately, it’s on a death spiral. I wold love to have the Fuze.

I like my AT&T Tilt. Unfortunately, I can’t get it to take a Verisign certificate.

My tilt has been great. I received it around the time of my first back surgery. Tinkering with it made time pass quickly.
Just had another round of surgery, so a new Fuze should help the recovery.
Hope all have a great holiday!

My favorite gadget 2008 is the iPod touch since you can do (almost) everything you can do with the iPhone. Especially with Wi-Fi all over the place.
Happy Holidays everybody!

My favorite gadget of 2008 has got to be the iPod Touch 2nd Generation. As a college student I need to be able to take notes on the go and record information on the fly.
Despite the fact that I own a laptop, it’s battery life comes nowhere near to that of the might iPod Touch. Not only does it double as a portable mini computer, it’s also a gaming device! At the current moment I own over 450 apps from the app store (most of which I got for free of course). Another bonus is the fact that my college campus has Wifi in all the major buildings and luckily, even in my resident hall. I can check all my emails with a couple of taps on the screen and stay up to date with all my favorite websites with ease with the Safari app (including Gear Diary of course
)
One of my favorite applications on the iPod however has got to be Stanza. Stanza is a great e-book reader which gives the user access to well over 25,000 books over a couple of download servers for free. Another great feature is the ability to sync to the desktop program and transfer e-books from your computer to your iPod! Finally I can read the entire Space Odyssey series on the go
Truthfully the iPod Touch has become a major part of my life. I use it as a wireless mouse and keyboard for my laptop, and can do work and play games on the go. I mainly carry 2 gadgets around with me, my Blackjack 2, and my iPod Touch.
Hope everyone has a great holiday

I have to say that my favorite gadget has been my T-Mobile Dash (HTC S620.) It’s been a blast hacking it up to WM 6.1, playing NES ROMS, reading my news feeds, etc. I know it has been around since before 2008, but it has given me loads of enjoyment this year.

My favourite gadget of the year was the iPAQ 910. Its form factor is perfect, especially the amount of buttons available (one handed usability!). However the usability can be improved with a better ROM though.

My favorite gadget would have to be the Touch Diamond Pro,I don’t have one…. I had to settle for the Iphone 3g….. When I switched to AT@T they had not released it yet, if I would have known that two months later they would have I would have bought it….. The reason I like it is the WinMo on it, the resoultion and the whole pocket PC experiance…. I had the sprint mogul and loved it and would love to have the HTC Fuze

please win the fuze

The best gadget has to be the HTC Max 4G. Never before has a manufacturer made we want a device, so much so that the desire can last all the way through 2008 to 2009. The Touch HD is simply no substitute, even if it has a 5 mp camera. Without that angled look, the latter half of 2008 was oh so…ahhh. Only a Fuze might sooze the burning embers but for a while.
