I put one in my basement stairway so I don't have to leave the stairway light on when I'm in the basement. It looks as though it is going to work out great! I'm very impressed.

I just bought these today (not on your recommendation, just found them and now found your post). I would say your condo must be older as most electrical code requires at least a 2 way switch between rooms or on stairs to avoid the hazards of just what you describe. You need to be able to turn a light off that you should turn on for safe travel and that's how code's been written. I thought that rule was about 15 to 20 years old or so. The only time you can now get away with one light switch is if the room is a "dead end" meaning you have to come back to the light switch to get out.

I bought a pair while at costco on your recommendation.
