If you’re thinking of buying a Nextel BlackBerry 8350i (Curve) – you should know that chatter in discussion forums says accessories such as cases and drop in chargers from other BlackBerry 83xx Curve models probably won’t fit the 8350i. According to purchasers the device is slightly taller and thicker making it incompatible with the standard BlackBerry charging dock, cases and skins.

Prior to the 8350i, nearly all accessories for BlackBerry were interchangeable between carrier models (for example a BlackBerry Curve case made for an AT&T Curve would fit a T-Mobile Curve). Not so apparently with the new 8350i. Here’s another tip, if you don’t need Nextel Direct Connect – go with the Sprint BlackBerry Curve which has high speed data (the 8350i doesn’t) and uses the Sprint spectrum for voice and data (8350i uses the Nextel spectrum) – and the Sprint 8330 is currently on Amazon at a net cost of free for new subscribers while the 8350i has yet to hit Amazon and is priced at $149 on Sprint’s site.
