Earlier this year, I wrote a review of the Scion xB Release Series 5.0 (which I own). I really like this vehicle a lot and I especially love the tech-related goodies included on it (like having both an audio-in jack AND a separate iPod connector jack). 20,000 miles later it’s STILL proving to be an excellent vehicle for me.
Now Scion is getting ready to release the next xB in their Release Series – 6.0. Just like the 5.0 version, this will be a limited production run of 2500. Take a look after the break for some of the goodies to be included in RS 6.0. as well as another picture (and a link to more pictures of the vehicle).
The RS 6.0 is going to come loaded with a lot of different tech toys at a very reasonable price. Among the things it will include are:
* Navigation System: Touch screen Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) headunit with flash memory, voice recognition, MSN Direct, and Bluetooth(r) capabilities
* Connectivity: Advanced AVN headunit comes with USB, SD card, and iPod(r) connectivity
* Entertainment: The Pioneer AVN headunit is satellite radio and HD Radio(r) – ready and will play DVDs and iPod videos when the vehicle is in park
* Customization: User can customize the 5.8 inch high-resolution WVGA LCD touch-panel display and choose from over 32,000 colors
The RS 6.0 should be available in February the car for $17,493 – starting price for a for manual transmission – and $18,443 for an automatic transmission. They also indicate that this is less than a similar Honda Element or the Chevy HHR.
Overall, it looks pretty good to me – it’s got a lot of features that tech fans will like. I do wish they had included the sunroof, body kit, and matched interior color panels that the RS 5.0 had, though.

You’ll be able to check out the new Scion xB RS 6.0 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit starting on January 11. For now check out more photos at their Scion xB RS 6.0 Flickr slideshow or take a look directly at the just posted new RS 6.0 portion of the Scion website.
