Palm has posted video of their Palm Pre keynote address given Thursday January 8, 2009 from CES 2009. It’s well worth a look to see the announcement of the new Palm Pre smartphone and Web OS operating system that touched off a significant amount of press enthusiasm.

Thanks for posting this, Wayne. We were sitting over on the right side, three rows back.
This Palm Pre presentation was the most galvanizing and definitely one of the most exciting things that we saw at CES, and it will be fun to watch the Pre appear and mature. And no, that doesn't say a lot about the rest of CES.
Watching the demo, things that struck me were how Palm seemed to have been paying attention to all of the things people liked from various mobile platforms, and then they basically borrowed from those features, but added their own interpretations. It looks like a very intuitive and dare I say – fun – interface.
I'm looking forward to buying a GSM model, but the 6 months (or so) wait is going to seem very long…but I would rather gnaw my arm off than go back to Sprint.

A GSM Pre is supposed to be released in Europe about the same time as the Sprint model. You could import one.

Seems like a lot of UI inspired by the iPhone. I like it.
