The Checkthrough line of bags have quickly become the best sellers in Skooba’s 10 year history. Just out is a new messenger bag that’s thinner than their first generation check through. In theory bags that meet the TSA standards will allow you to simply unzip, lay flat and sail your bag right through the Xray eyes of security.

The Checkthrough Messenger Bag looks like any other business case, but opens and hinges in the middle to separate and isolate the laptop compartment from the rest of the bag.

For immediate visual reference the laptop can be seen by the inspector through a clear window that is exposed when the bag is unfolded. With the window facing up, the bag is sent through X-ray screening. The design of the bag is the same

Tip: Top 3 things not to say to TSA if they ask you to take the laptop out of a checkthrough bag:

1. What are you blind – there’s a see-through window right here!

2. Sure go ahead and open it what do I care – it’s not even mine – a guy I just met over there asked me to carry it through security for him.

3. And what if I refuse? What happens then? You gonna take me behind the screen and strip search me.. tough guy?

The new Checkthrough Messenger is available now, at a suggested retail price of $129.95. Skooba Design has set up a special section of its website at www.checkthrough.com for travelers to get more information on the checkpoint friendly program, as well as sign up to receive product updates. Full specs and dealer/ordering information can be found at www.skoobadesign.com.

I lied the original a lot. I am taking it with me when I go to DC in April so I get to really test it. This one looks like a winner too and it not as big as the original.
