Trapcall makes “Blocked” caller ID a thing of the past

A new service is available for AT&T and T-Mobile subscribers that makes it easy to manage those annoying calls that come through as “Blocked” (which I don’t find problematic – I just never answer them). Punch a few numbers into your phone, press send and from that point on whenever you get a call that does not have the phone number displayed you can reject it (typically by pressing END on your phone). The call will be routed to Trapcall which deciphers the incoming phone number (and for an extra fee – the name) and routes it back to you with the caller’s number. The service also allows you to receive transcribed voice mail messages in your email as well as to record your incoming cell phone calls. The free service allows for caller ID unmasking while an additional fee ($9.95/mo) is applicable if you want to get the caller ID name as well as transcription.
