If your phone takes a swim and your on a GSM carrier (T-Mobile, AT&T for example in the USA) you usually have to replace a broken phone with an insurance claim from . If you don’t have the cell phone insurance (which is usually $4 to $6/mo) then you’re only choice has been to buy a replacement at the over priced rate, purchase from a limited selection of basic (aka ugly) prepaid phones (replacing the prepaid sim with yours works so long as it’s the same carrier’s phone) or shopping for a fully unlocked phone that could be used on any GSM compatible plan.
Here’s a solution to the last option – a fully unlocked phone. This Nokia 6133 is quad band – 850/900/1800/1900 – 1.3 megapixel camera, video, myFaves, Bluetooth, FM radio, MicrSD (not included), and EDGE compatible. The model is a little long in the tooth and has been updated since by other Nokias – but for $60 you’ll have a replacement phone that won’t break the bank or make you ashamed.
