I’ve been spending a little bit of time with Facebook 1.5 for BlackBerry. The official release has not yet occurred but a beta has been floating around for the past week or so.

While not much has changed other than integrating message notifications into the BlackBerry inbox – I did notice one really nice feature. As part of the 1.5 upgrade, the new Facebook for BlackBerry uploads your contacts to Facebook. This allows you to select from a list of BlackBerry contacts who have Facebook accounts (I assume it matches them via email) and automatically send out invitations. Very cool! (PS – I know that you could do this by integrating regular Facebook to your address book but I always had problem connecting my Google Apps for Domain contact list – so this is something new and exciting – and a cool new Facebook for BlackBerry 1.5 feature to look forward to).
