I  had pre-ordered an eSlick eBook reader a few months ago. When the Kindle 2 was announced I jumped on it, but decided to keep the eSlick in order to do a comparison. Well it shipped last week, and after the slooooowest journey from the West Coast, it arrived yesterday.

First impression- I like the small light feel, I love the black color compared to the Kindle 2, but I am so(!) appreciating the simplicity of the Kindle’s Whispernet and WhisperSync technology.

A few pictures after the jump, and I’ll some additional thoughts soon…after using it for a bit.

His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. Dan is married to Raina Goldberg who is also an avid user of Apple products. They live in New Jersey with their golden doodle Nava.

This one’s based on the Bookeen CyBook:

I’ve tried out the CyBook original, and reading is very pleasant, but I don’t like the slow page-flipping. It’s also a bit too expensive.

  2. My dream would be an eBook reader that could handle my complex PDF documents from academic journals. Two columns, multiple tables, figures, and graphs… the moment an eReader can handle those, I’m sold.

When you post your review, please include pictures and your thoughts of reading a complex formatted PDF. That would be so helpful, thanks!
