Google had a good one today. If you logged into your account you were greeted by an invitation to try the New Gmail Autopilot. Clicking the link brought you to an interesting description of their new “service” that automatically responds to your emails based on Gmail’s sampling of your writing style. …

It was an awefully good one that was pulled off in Google’s amazing style. That, however, isn’t what got me about it. This is…
If you had told me a two years ago that I could browse the web from my phone and enjoy it I would have thought your were joking. Then I got my iPhone.
If you had told me a year ago that my voicemails would arrive in my email inbox as text I would have thought it was an April Fool’s Joke. It isn’t. It’s SpinVox and it is working beautifully for me .
If you had told me nine months ago that I could log into my home iMac and update my synagogue’s website from my iPhone I would have laughed. I use LogMeIn Ignition all the time now!
If you had told me six month ago that I would initiate a Google search by lifting my iPhone to my ear and speaking I would have thought you had been drinking. Thanks to the new Google app my prefered way of doing a Google search is by voice on my iPhone now.
So Google analyzing my email and autoresponding…? Give it a year or two…
Now THAT’S funny… or is it AMAZING?

I agree with all your points. Auto-pilot is not that far fetched (funny, but not far fetched)…
I’m also big time on the voice mail to text bandwagon (though I use phone tag) and since my Google Voice account just went live (finally) — I’m thinking of switching everything to them.
