For the most part, she stays quiet in her room until the sun comes out. There have been maybe 5 or 6 times in the past months where she tries to come out early, we just tell her, is the sun out? If it isn't, we tell her she just has to stay quietly in her bed (with a book if she chooses) until it comes out.
Also, helps during the school year, we set it a little before my 10 year old has to get up and she knows when she wakes up and sees the sun, she can get up as well and not worry about waking the baby up too early.
I am considering another one for "rest/nap" time, as we are transitioning out of naps and are moving to just having quiet time for an hour each day.

I have this night light – got it in March (my youngest just turned 3 last week). It looks really useful.

Yes $35 is a little pricey but I probably would have bought this when the kids were younger.
