Never Lose Things Between Your Car Seat and Console Again!

From the ‘interesting idea turned into a product that costs too much and does too little’ department, Wired reports on a new product called ‘Drop Stop’ that … well, let’s just read what the site claims:

Never Search Under Your Seats Again!
Drop Stop® prevents keys, phones, change, jewelry, makeup, bottle caps, pens, gum, and more from falling down the car seat crack.

* Easily fits between your car seat and console
* Moves with the seat and is attached via the seat belt catch
* Drop Stop® prevents anything from falling down the crack
* One Size Fits All – Trucks And Cars!
* One Time Installation
* Drop Stop® is made using high grade neoprene
* Durable And Easy To Clean!

Beware of cheap knock-offs and imitations using lesser quality materials. They will fall apart and degrade!

This seems like one of those silly little things that you’d use as a stocking stuffer until you see that they are $20 for a pair! For me that is a pretty lousy value proposition – I don’t like dropping stuff but have never felt $20 worth of frustration. Have you? If so head on over to Drop Stop and pick up a pair – they even have a discount code right on the site!

I have loved technology for as long as I can remember - and have been a computer gamer since the PDP-10! Mobile Technology has played a major role in my life - I have used an electronic companion since the HP95LX more than 20 years ago, and have been a 'Laptop First' person since my Compaq LTE Lite 3/20 and Powerbook 170 back in 1991! As an avid gamer and gadget-junkie I was constantly asked for my opinions on new technology, which led to writing small blurbs ... and eventually becoming a reviewer many years ago. My family is my biggest priority in life, and they alternate between loving and tolerating my gaming and gadget hobbies ... but ultimately benefits from the addition of technology to our lives!

    I was once dropped a penny down my crack and it got trapped in the track to where I couldn't move my seat back and forth anymore. The car repair guys had to remove my entire seat which if I remember cost me over $300!!!

    I needed this back then for sure and will surely pay $20 now to never deal with this issue again.

    I'm in field sales. I use a piece of black foam rubber to fill the seat/console gap. Much like this solution but free.

    Love to hear the different views – I thought it was a waste, but I have only a 15 minute commute (after 18 years of ~1 hour!) and don't live in my car, so …
