Otterbox recently asked if we’d be interested in testing their BlackBerry Storm Defender Case.

Since I don’t have the Storm, I had to assign to the task to my sister Lynn who is a proud (and happy) owner as well as an active marathoner and horse show enthusiast. If there ever was a candidate for testing a protective case for a phone – it’s Lynn. After using it for about three weeks here’s what she said.

LOVE the new Otterbox for Blackberry Storm.

It provides fantastic protection for the phone—in fact double protection. It first sits in a hard plastic case which has some hard knobby things on the edges and a clear plastic protective face for the screen. The knobby things (this is the technical name, right??) serve a purpose.

After the Storm is completely enclosed in the hard shell, the soft rubber coating goes over the back and sides.

Those knobs serve as pegs that hold the rubber cover on like a glove. It has the perfect sized cut-outs for the charger, the earphone jack as well as all the other necessary buttons to get at.

It has a superb fit that is not a bear to put on. Then—as if it couldn’t get any better than that—it has a belt clip holder!!

Very nice and it is made so that the cell phone faces in so NO POCKET DIALING!! Wahooo!!

I have a problem with that (pocket dialing), usually. The clip stays in place nicely and the phone fits in it well. Great product. Highly recommend this one!!

I’m getting watermarks on my unit. I called otterbox and there sending me a replacement but I think it’s a design problem to be honest. How did you manage to avoid the watermark issue?
