I’ve had a Sleeptracker Pro for about a year, and while it works mostly as advertised, it’s seriously chunky and the software doesn’t work on a Mac.
Innovative Sleep Solutions, the maker of the Sleeptracker watches, has addressed these issues with the introduction of the Sleeptracker Elite series of watches, and Mac-compatible software.
The new Sleeptracker Elite watches have a 25% smaller watch face (compared to the Sleeptracker Pro) and come in male and female versions (if you haven’t already twigged, they come in gender-typical colors). New designs aside, the Elite series watches are functionally similar to the Sleeptracker Pro. That means they get a glow-in-the-dark display, nifty vibrating alarm and the ability to download sleep history data to your PC – and by the end of the month – to your Mac as well. Sleeptracker Pro users don’t have to feel left out, because the Mac software will be backward compatible with the Pro.
The Sleeptracker Pro had a brushed metal chassis that was sturdy and stylish (in a way), but added a lot of bulk and weight. The new watches are sleeker, so if you were bothered by the heft of the original Sleeptrackers, the Elite series might be the answer. They’re available now for $179.00. And worth it if you’ve ever been jolted awake by a screeching alarm in the middle of a dream.

I'm a big fan of the Sleeptracker Pro (due to the vibrate alarm) and happy to hear the Mac compatibility will be backward compatible for the non-Elite Sleeptracker users. Glad to see they are coming out with new models. Yes, the Pro is hefty. I wear it to sleep only. It's not something I wear to work or when I go out
The features between the Elite and the Pro series seem on par (read, exactly the same:) ). But, I already saw the Pro is temporarily out of stock. They must be phasing the model out for the Elite. Hopefully, the next models will be a little more, um, stylish and a little less Casio. Not that there's anything wrong with Casio
