Thankfully no bacteria has ever become resistant to copper, so we can all sleep safely at night knowing that our treated socks or bedding is looking after us. Copalife products have a 5 log protection for you techie people even after 50 commercial washings - incredible. It is very effective against bacteria (+,-), mould and other pathogens (5-log reduction) and because we use copper and silver we can achieve much higher results as an example After 5 time washes commercially available Ag (silver) coated Socks, (typical socks purchased on high street) they lost antimicrobial efficacy while Copalife coated fabric showed 5-log reduction against K. pneumoniae S.aureus C. Albicans. Finally this technology is now being used in hospitals to protect against MRSA and cross contamination and the military have started incorporating it within uniforms around the world.st MRSA and cross contamination and the millitary have started incorporating it within uniforms around the world.

Copper being completely natural and a required element within the body helps with your immune system. All this hyper-sterility leaves me gravely concerned about the development of antibiotic-resistant organisms...just ask your local Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Also, while some of the benign odor-causing bacteria and fungi are objectionable, they can and do compete with more pathogenic organisms and may prevent more harmful bugs, such as Staph aureus from taking hold. Just my two cents...

Hm, what happens to the other .1% of microbes left behind? 3 and 4 years old sons here. These socks could be a gift...
@Carly
I think you have to try, and maybe suggest the producer to add some "anti dog" socks to the catalogue :)

@Michael<br

I wonder if this would discourage my dog from chomping my socks...knowing him he might find "anti-fungal" to be a nice added spice.

Hmm.
