thank you!
I think a GSM version of the Palm Pre was demoed at Mobile World Congress this year (MWC 2009):

so this is what I am waiting anxiousluy for :)
For the other devices you think about:
- Palm Treo Pro: I fear the sync of my crowded Contacts, which on the Treo 650 (and 680 as well) can be extremely structured and not so easy to export to other systems (I am not taking into account to make it by hand)
- G1: apart for the "Contacts" the keyboard (a riend of mine made me try it) is uncomfortable, due to the bump on the right, ans the roller pointer does not convince me, it also lacks A2DP

Kiffmeister,

thank you!

I think a GSM version of the Palm Pre was demoed at Mobile World Congress this year (MWC 2009):

<a

I was so disappointed when Palm announced it was dropping the development of the PalmOS. I'm also kind of wedded to T-Mobile and I like the fact I can use my phone just about anywhere in the world (I travel a fair bit).
I'm thinking about the Palm Pre (only if an unlocked version is offered), because it will be able to run PalmOS applications, but I don't think it runs on GSM networks. I kind of like the unlocked Palm Pro, but I'm not sure whether it works with T-Mobile. So I think I'll take the G1 for a test drive sometime, but I have to wait until I see proof that the ActivSync technology actually works. I think DataViz is offering a beta version of some push email technology, but I have to be sure it works with my firm's platform.
Anyways, good luck with your search!

I’m facing the same dilemma! I have a Treo 680 and it’s perfect except for the lack of 3G and WiFi.
