Since its initial release a few weeks ago, Pocket Informant has become one of my most important iPhone productivity apps. Version 1 worked well, although some expressed concern over a bit of lag when using the app. Version 1.01 followed soon after and sped things up quite a bit, brought even more stability and added some great features like shared Google Calendar Sync, the ability to pick which calendars sync, and much much more.
Version 1.02 is on the way and begins the process, among other things, of adding functionality to the app’s task management. We posted an exclusive sneak peak of 1.02 over on whatsoniphone.com.
The update is headed into Apple for approval and release in the next few days. To prepare for it our friends at WebIS have provided a number of promocodes for Pocket Informant. For a chance to win a copy just leave a comment below as to why you want/need PI for your iPhone or iPod Touch.
We’ll pick 5 winners on Sunday.
Oh, and to double your chances head over to whatsoniphone ’cause we’re giving away copies there, as well.

I would love to have this app. It is the most promising calendar and todo app in the appstore. I hope I’ll be the lucky one.

It sounds all too familiar… I’m yet another long time WM user who lived by Pocket Informant. I was on the beta test team for the WM version for a few years, but had to leave that since my commitments changed and I couldn’t devote enough time to be productive to the team any more. I remember when the iPhone was first announced. The beta list had a buzz about whether WebIS would make an iPhone version. I haven’t switched back to PI since I’d rather maintain all of my information on my mac, like I did on my Windows machines. So, it’s taking me a lot longer to transition into cloud computing. I would love a copy of PI to help me complete the transition.
And, maybe, just maybe, one day Apple will get off their high horse and let third party developers have access to all of the data stores…just like they did on the Newton. Just like every other platform. It’s absurd that apps can’t access the built-in calendar.

Used this on my PocketPC forever and loved it. Dearly missing it on the iPhone.

I would really enjoy having this app to go with my new Iphone. I am a long time user of the windows mobile version, and miss much of the functionality. I hope that I am one of the lucky five!!

I’d like this app because I’ve been evangelizing the Getting Things Done approach and PI supports GTD beautifully.

I heard so much about this pocket informant app yet I haven’t had the chance to try it out. Therefore, I feel I should be given a chance to do so then I can recommend it to my friends and relatives to use it.
