Maybe it was faster. It’s not been a problem for me. Except when it is upload, my quality of service on my Vonage phone decreases..But maybe thats due to the way I have it set up.

20GB took 2-3 days? That sounds really slow to me, especially as I sit here looking at my 500GB hard drive. It seems to me that with the increase in movie downloads, which are often more than 1GB each, it seems people are going to to need more space and faster speeds than these solutions currently offer.

I don’t really know what the upload speed is exactly, I’ve never monitored it. I’ll usually unload my digital camera in the late afternoon/evening with about 100-150 pictures each about 2-4 mb in size. By morning they are all updated and online.

I just did about 20gb of mpg from my handycam and that took about 2 or 3 days. The upload speed has never bothered me. I’ve used their manual upload to upload single pictures or zip files so that I can share/send them to colleagues and it has also been fast enough for my needs and seems to be as fast as other document uploads or email sending.

Sorry to ramble on. But I’m happy with it.
PS. I have a cable internet connection…It’s not the fastest isp around but it seems to be faster than my neighbor’s dsl.

@thehotrod: No worries! I mentioned SugarSync in my other review too, and the more opinions the better. What kind of upload speeds are you getting with SugarSync, by the way? My beef with these services is that they’re always too slow to be useful. SpiderOak (review coming up) has been the fastest so far; I last used SugarSync a year ago so I don’t know if their throughput has improved.

@Michael…SugarSync rocks. It may be more expensive than other cloud backup solutions, but it offers sync across multiple computers, iPhone app, file and album sharing. I love it. I just wish it was cheaper. Mind you, I’m using the 100gb plan, and with my camcorder movies and digicam pictures of work and family I’m ready to upgrade to the 250gb plan. So your plan could be cheaper if you don’t use as much space as I do. I highly recommend Sugarsync.

@Raymond, sorry to plug Sugarsync in your review of Memopal. Memopal sounds good, but not great, yet. Looking forward to your next review.

Thanks so much for these reviews. I’m currently using SugarSync and I love it. Although looking at other products, the pricing is not the cheapest. But Sugarsync seems to be the most feature rich and I do like it. But I’m always looking for a better deal. Thanks.
