I use this phone in place of a landline at my vacation rental condo. Most guests use
their cell phones these days, so the phone in the condo gets light use.
My landline cost $30/mo, and that buys 2 hours of AT&T prepaid time (and 5 hours of
T-mobile prepaid time, if their service is available).

@Carly Z: I’m actually considering buying one of these to use as a car phone… Seriously! Touchscreen phones suck when driving, and this has got nice, big buttons…

Hmmm – that antenna reminds me of the old 3 watt bag phones. If this thing has a 3 watt antenna in it, I am going to get one for my extra SIM! We don’t have a landline, but this could be a perfect accompaniment to using our mobiles as a home phone in the country.
