Today’s the big day for Palm Pre. It’s the first day you can (should able to) walk into a Sprint or Best Buy Store and pick up the new smartphone from Palm. This morning I noticed an interesting article that Peter over at Just Another Mobile Monday linked on his Facebook page titled Picking nits: why I’m skipping the Palm Pre. I think the article gives some really good background information that may fill in some of the spaces around the reviews that have appeared in the last few days. I’m willing to bet that most of the shortcomings are fixed pretty quickly by software updates. The battery life and keyboard could be reasons to wait for a Pre 2 as they could prove unfixable by updates.
