Popcap’s Peggle has already become a classic in the two years since the casual game was launched by PopCap for the PC. Since then it has appeared on the Mac, gotten a seqel (Peggle Nights) for Mac and PC, been released on XBOX Live Arcade (XBLA), gotten a DS release … and now it is available on the iTunes App Store.
The concept of Peggle is simple: you are presented with a board of pegs, some of which are orange. You have a ball shooter at the top center of the screen. The goal is to remove all of the orange pegs from the screen using the balls from your shooter. Since gravity and physics are the laws in the Peggle universe, you need to estimate teh trajectory of bounces off other pegs if you hope to clear all the orange pegs. Any peg you hit disappears, allowign you to get at hidden pegs.
Peggle was released for the iPhone and iPod Touch on May 6th at a very reasonable price of $5.99 – for that amount you get the entire game that sells for $19.99 for the Mac & PC. However, for this weekend only the game is available for $0.99 – so if you have any interest at all in trying one of the best and most addictive casual games ever made, grab this while it is at this incredible price!
