YouTube Preview ImageHere’s a quick peek at iPhone push notifications which apparently started working suddenly for developers who already have the iPhone OS 3.0 update. While I can appreciate the excitement at how quickly this video portrays the receipt of a notification – get back to me when 1+ million people are simultaneously testing push notifications. This push notification frenzy is slated to happen on Wed June 17, 2009 when OS 3 for iPhone (the first iPhone OS to support push notification) is slated for release. Maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised and the server load for push notifications will work flawlessly – or just maybe we’ll all be treated to several hundred thousand angry Twitter messages about push notification delays. Tune in June 17 when the OS 3.0 goes live for the exciting play by play.
